LAUREN & LUIS

Nestled on the beautiful Hope Island, Lauren and Luis’s wedding was one of those days that reminded us exactly why we love what we do. It was elegant, heartfelt, and full of personality — the perfect mix of modern luxury and timeless romance.

As their wedding planners, we had the honour of bringing their stunning vision to life at the InterContinental Sanctuary Cove Resort. The venue itself is iconic, with its lush gardens, calm waterways, and that instantly recognisable glass chapel. It’s a place that already feels special, but with the right design and styling, it becomes unforgettable. For Lauren and Luis, that’s exactly what we wanted — a day that felt uniquely theirs, layered with meaningful details and surrounded by beauty at every turn.

From the beginning, Lauren had a clear idea of how she wanted the wedding to feel. She loved classic white florals, soft candlelight, and a romantic yet polished atmosphere. Our goal was to take that foundation and elevate it — to make it luxurious, but still warm and inviting. Every design choice was intentional, balancing the grandness of the venue with intimate, personal touches.

The ceremony took place in the InterContinental’s famous glass chapel. It’s one of the most stunning ceremony spaces in Queensland — light-filled, surrounded by greenery, and overlooking the peaceful lagoon. The setting alone does most of the work, but we wanted to enhance that natural beauty with thoughtful styling. The chapel was adorned with a mix of real and faux white florals, giving it a lush, full look that photographed beautifully from every angle. The result was pure sophistication: classic, elegant, and timeless.

The combination of real and faux florals worked perfectly for this space. It allowed us to create volume and texture without overwhelming the room. Layered greenery softened the glass edges, while cascading white blooms framed the altar in a way that drew your eye naturally to the couple. The effect was effortless — refined without feeling overly staged.

As Lauren walked down the aisle, the sunlight poured through the glass, catching the details of her gown and the soft movement of her veil. It was one of those moments that felt still and cinematic, with everyone completely focused on her and Luis. The emotion in that room was incredible. And just as they were saying their vows, two kangaroos hopped past the chapel — a moment that had everyone smiling. It was so quintessentially Australian, and somehow felt like a little blessing from nature itself.

Once the ceremony concluded, guests moved to the cocktail area while we completed the final touches for the reception. The team at the InterContinental was incredible to work with, and the transition from ceremony to reception flowed seamlessly. Our focus behind the scenes was to make sure everything ran smoothly, so Lauren and Luis could just enjoy the day without having to think about logistics.

The tables were styled with a focus on texture and light. We used crisp white linens, glassware that caught the glow of the candles, and touches of soft metallics to add depth. The florals were full and abundant, covering the tables in a sea of white blooms that created a continuous flow of elegance throughout the room. The effect was both timeless and fresh — a perfect reflection of Lauren’s style.

We always talk about how light transforms a space, and this wedding was a perfect example. The way the candles reflected off the glass, the gentle twinkle of the fairy lights above, and the subtle lighting around the florals created the dreamiest atmosphere. As guests walked in, there was an audible gasp. That moment when the doors open and everyone sees the room for the first time never gets old. It’s the culmination of months of design, planning, and coordination coming together in one breathtaking reveal.

Throughout the evening, the focus stayed on the experience. The flow of the event, the comfort of the guests, and the emotion of the moments in between. We coordinated every detail — from speeches and service to timing the cake cutting and first dance — so everything felt seamless. That’s always our goal. When things are planned and managed properly, the couple and their guests can just be present and enjoy it all.

Lauren and Luis were an absolute dream to work with. From our very first meeting, it was clear that they valued good design and trusted our process completely. That kind of trust makes such a difference. It allows us to bring creativity and expertise to every decision while ensuring the final outcome still feels deeply personal to the couple. They wanted their day to be full of warmth, love, and elegance — and it truly was.

One of the most special parts of planning this wedding was seeing how involved both Lauren and Luis were in the process. They cared about the little things — not in a perfectionist way, but in a way that showed how much the day meant to them. Every choice had intention behind it. From the ceremony music to the layout of the tables, everything told a piece of their story. That’s what makes a wedding meaningful — when it’s built around who you are as a couple, not just what looks beautiful in photos.

As the night went on, the dance floor filled, the champagne flowed, and the whole room glowed with joy. The Grange has this ability to hold energy beautifully — it feels both grand and intimate at the same time. The music echoed softly through the space, laughter carried through the air, and you could feel how loved Lauren and Luis are by everyone around them. It was one of those weddings where the energy stayed high all night and no one wanted it to end.

Looking back, what stands out most about Lauren and Luis’s wedding is how balanced it felt. Every detail had purpose, but nothing felt overdone. It was romantic without being fussy, luxurious without feeling formal. The styling was cohesive and elevated, but the atmosphere was full of warmth and joy. That combination is what we always strive for — creating a day that’s beautiful to look at, but even more beautiful to experience.

For us, planning and styling weddings like this isn’t just about the aesthetics, it’s about the feeling. It’s about creating a flow that feels natural, an environment that makes guests feel comfortable, and a space that truly reflects the couple. Lauren and Luis’s wedding captured that perfectly.

It was such an honour to be part of their day, to work alongside incredible vendors, and to see their vision come to life so beautifully. We’ll never forget the look on their faces when they stepped into The Grange for the first time — that quiet moment of awe before the night began. Those are the moments that make all the long hours, late nights, and detailed planning worth it.

To Lauren and Luis, thank you for trusting us with your vision and for letting us play a part in such an important chapter of your lives. Your day was everything it should have been — joyful, elegant, and full of love. We wish you a lifetime of happiness, adventure, and endless beautiful memories together.

And to any couples dreaming of a wedding at the InterContinental Sanctuary Cove Resort, it’s truly one of Queensland’s most special venues. The glass chapel, the water views, and the world-class service make it the perfect setting for a luxury wedding. When you combine that with thoughtful styling and seamless coordination, the result is pure magic — just like Lauren and Luis’s day.
